In the fall of 2023, Google launched a new generation of Merchant Center – the "Next" version, which will eventually replace the old version.
Google Merchant Center Next is available by default for new clients, with an option to switch back to the old version. For now, Google is not forcing users of the older version to transition. So, what can we expect?
➊ Updated design
From the layout of tabs to the overall functionality logic.
➋ Improved product addition process
➌ Mandatory inclusion of "Shipping and Returns"
➍ More information on organic search
➎ Step-by-step project launch guide
The concept of the new Google Merchant Center Next focuses on minimizing unnecessary actions and enhancing visibility, much like Google Analytics 4.
To switch back to the classic Google Merchant Center, go to the settings, click on "Help," and you will be offered the option to return to the old version.
In October 2023, a message appeared in all classic Merchant Center accounts, stating that the classic version would soon become unavailable, and only the "Next" version would remain operational.
This article will continue to be updated as Google Merchant Center Next evolves.
