If you are planning an online store and looking for contractors for implementation, then you will probably come across the “Cartum” system.
“Cartum” is a ready-made online store in 5 days with many built-in features for online entrepreneurs.
It so happened that “Prom.ua” was actively visited by goods of a lower price segment, for the reason that it has its own marketplace that can generate sales. The segment above that wanted to have a more customized website came to “Cartum”.
We will talk about the “Cartum” system from the point of view of online promotion (SEO, contextual advertising, analytics, implementations for SMM), since we own a number of projects on this platform. So, let's go.
SEO and “Cartum”
The system provides quite a few flexible opportunities for SEO specialists, including:
- Predefined templates for various page types;
- Custom meta tags, allowing you to bypass automated ones;
- URL optimization;
- Header tag management (H tags);
- Custom static filters with the required meta tags and H1 tags;
- Microdata support;
- Clean code;
- Optimization for optimal PageSpeed Insights scores;
- And much more.
All of this is available out of the box, along with additional flexible setting combinations.
PPC and “Cartum”
Here, two critical points stand out:
- Google Shopping readiness;
- Dynamic remarketing implementation.
Google Shopping on “Cartum”
The main question is exporting products into a specialized feed for the Merchant Center to launch shopping campaigns. This can be done in just a few clicks. There’s also the option to export products for ROZETKA and other marketplaces.
Dynamic remarketing on “Cartum”
The dynamic remarketing in Google Ads is integrated through the "dynx" variable event system. To set it up, you just need to input the remarketing code ID.
Next we see that the code returns parameters correctly.
Analytics and “Cartum”
Integrating Google Analytics is straightforward- just copy the ID.
In addition, the “Cartum” system:
- Creates a complete list of ready-to-go goals;
- Includes standard e-commerce tracking;
- Supports enhanced e-commerce tracking.
Tag Manager and “Cartum”
Using Tag Manager in the system isn’t mandatory; all analytics and event processing systems can function without it.
However, if you decide to implement Tag Manager, you’ll need to take these steps:
- Input all Google system IDs through TGM (don’t input these IDs in marketing systems, this is crucial);
- Set up event transmission through Data Layer in TGM; the Cartum system automatically sends events at the Data Layer level, so you don’t need to implement anything on the site. TGM’s job here is to process them, which can be done by creating specific tags as described in the official manual.
* Additionally, to ensure events are sent correctly to Google Analytics, you must input the Tag Manager container ID through the marketing systems tag in Cartum named Google Tag Manager (head); otherwise, the Data Layer event transmission won’t work (this isn’t mentioned in Cartum’s manuals).
For comparison, the Prom.ua system has chosen not to use Tag Manager to avoid confusing users. We generally recommend going this route as well. But if you do use TGM, it opens up new analytics possibilities.
SMM and “Cartum”
Eventually, every website touches on social media promotion. For online stores, this means:
- Setting up the Facebook pixel;
- Configuring events;
- Exporting the feed for Facebook Business.
All these elements are taken care of in the “Cartum” system.
Once the pixel is set up, the following events will be automatically configured:
👉 Adding a product to the cart
👉 Requesting a callback (Lead generation)
👉 Starting the checkout process
👉 Subscribing to newsletters (Lead generation)
👉 Visiting the product page
👉 Successful registration
👉 Completing an order successfully (Purchase)
Overall, the Cartum system provides all the necessary setups for an online marketer. We’ve had plenty of successful projects that have thrived on this platform.
Cartum vs. Prom.ua: Which to choose?
Having promoted over 400 projects, we can say:
“Cartum” and us
With over 20 projects on this system, we believe Cartum is quite promising and evolving. We first encountered it in 2013, but we only got around to writing this article now - better late than never! We’ve amassed a wealth of knowledge. Wishing you all success and great sales!
* As of today, we are proud to be official partners of the Cartum system in Ukraine.
